Digital Marketing Coordinator

Term: May 1, 2024-August 31, 2024 

Pay: $2300 per month, 30-40 hours per week

Location: Remote, and advanced notice when required on-site (1-3 days per month)

The role: how you will make a difference:

We are seeking a fun, creative self-starter to join our marketing team as an Assistant Digital Marketing Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing social media strategies and email marketing campaigns to enhance brand awareness, engage with our audience, and drive customer acquisition and retention. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for digital marketing to gain hands-on experience and grow within a fast-paced environment

Social Media Marketing

You’ll be responsible for leveraging AFTER9’s video and photo asset library to tell stories through social media channels (Tiktok, Instagram, Pinterest) in new and creative ways, with the aim of growing the brand’s digital audience and following. 

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to increase brand visibility and engagement across various platforms such as Tiktok, Instagram and Pintrest
  • Create compelling and relevant content, including but not limited to posts, images, videos, and stories, that resonate with our target audience.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages in a timely manner, and engage with followers to foster a sense of community and loyalty.
  • Analyze social media performance metrics, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.
  • Expand to new social media platforms to experiment and reach new audiences. 

Email marketing

You’ll learn how to leverage Klaviyo to build compelling weekly email marketing campaigns that drive customer acquisition, retention, and conversion.

  • Leverage Canva to update email templates and create content that aligns with brand guidelines and executes on campaigns
  • Segment email lists based on demographics, preferences, and behaviors to deliver personalized and targeted messaging.
  • Conduct A/B testing on email campaigns to optimize performance and increase open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates
  • Monitor email deliverability and compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR and CAN-SPAM.

Content Creation and Copywriting:

  • Generate creative ideas for social media posts, email campaigns, and other digital marketing initiatives to engage with our audience and drive results.
  • Write clear, concise, and compelling copy for social media captions, email subject lines, body content, and other marketing materials.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in style and tone, and optimized for maximum engagement and impact

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, sales, and product development, to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Coordinate social media and email marketing calendars, schedules, and workflows to ensure timely execution of campaigns and promotions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in social media and email marketing, and share insights and recommendations with the team.

Implementing SEO

Weekly, you’ll help AFTER9 grow its ability to be found through Organic Search by editing, uploading and optimizing blog posts for search engine optimization and posting videos to YouTube. As well as posting AFTER9 products to Facebook Marketplace, Amazon and Kiji to drive site traffic. 

Customer service

You’ll be required to monitor the direct messages on social platforms and the AFTER9 customer inbox for various queries. 

You:

We want a student who lives and breathes TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat, and loves to make things go viral. You’re familiar with apps like Capcut. Technology empowers you, and you’re up for learning any platform you can get your hands on. You’re ahead of social trends and You’ve got your eye on social trends  and know what’s considered fetch or cool. 

You’re also a visual storyteller, with a keen sense of aesthetics. and You understand what looks good digitally in still images and video. You consider yourself a creative thinker, who is an early adopter of any style trend.

Attitude - you’re a problem solver, a doer, and have a can-do attitude to getting work done. You also love to collaborate and ideate. 

Qualifications

  • You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. 
  • You must be enrolled in a full or part-time program at a Canadian accredited postsecondary institution, during the work placement period
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be equipped to work remotely with a cellphone and laptop
  • Preferably in a digital marketing, film or graphic design undergraduate program
  • Previous experience in social media and email management tools an asset (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social), email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact), and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive actionable insights and recommendations.
  • A passion for marketing, creativity, and staying abreast of industry trends and best practices

Our process

  1. We’ll have a zoom interview
  2. You’ll submit a short test updating an email graphic template in Canva, as well as creating a sample social media reel with photo and video assets provided to you
